Before 2007
Long before software development became my profession, I was learning by making, repairing, and understanding technology. That path gave me a foundation in visual judgment, customer empathy, technical curiosity, and independent problem solving.
These years are not included in my 19+ years of professional software experience.
Self-taught in Photoshop, I designed business cards and print materials for customers of my family's printing and bookbinding business.
I then worked independently as a computer technician and troubleshooter, providing paid support directly to private customers.
Driven by curiosity, I spent several years examining how applications behaved through hands-on experimentation and reverse engineering.
I taught myself programming and built applications for friends and private customers before joining my first software employer directly as a Software Developer.
